The Band Program has a number of required expenses to meet the educational needs of our students.  Our current focus is updating our percussion section, replacing poor quality instruments, and expanding materials for our jazz program.  Below are just a few specific examples of inventory improvements we would like to make (in order of ascending price):

Replace our current broken bass amp with a new amp, as well as purchase a pickup for the string bass (also includes new auxiliary cables). $460
Purchase new sets of mallets for the students to use during class and concerts.  Most students own one pair of mallets, but different types of mallets are required for different types of pieces.  An expanded inventory of mallets will allow us to perform music at a much higher quality. $552
Replace many of the heads on our snare drums and toms, as well as purchase padded cloth covers for the timpani and vibraphone.  This will ensure that these instruments sound terrific and are protected when not in use. $690
Purchase new instruments and replace a number of auxiliary percussion instruments.  Some examples include temple blocks, rainstick, shakers, tambourine, ratchet, etc. $1,410
Purchase a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano for jazz band use (currently using Mr. Scroggins’s personal keyboard for rehearsal and performance). $2,700
Purchase two new full-sized tubas to for 8th grade use.  This would free up our ¾-sized tubas for 6th & 7th grade. $3,600
Purchase two new Fox Renard oboes to replace our deteriorating oboes. $7,400

The items above are only examples of purchases we would like to make.  Click here to view our wishlist of specific items for our program..
