The Band Program has a number of required expenses to meet the educational needs of our students. Our current focus is updating and replacing items in our percussion inventory. In order to meet our goal, we will need to raise approximately $6,800 in profit. For context, we collected approximately $4,500 in profit from last year’s Donation Drive. The needs of the percussion inventory have been outlined and explained further below.
|Priority 1 – $4,200||Our primary focus is to purchase a new vibraphone. Parkview does not own a vibraphone currently, so our percussion section is incomplete in terms of mallet instruments. We will also need to purchase a variety of vibraphone mallets.|
|Priority 2 – $1410||Our secondary focus is to purchase new instruments and replace a number of auxiliary instruments. Some examples include temple blocks, rainstick, shakers, tambourine, ratchet, etc.|
|Priority 3 – $620||Another goal is to replace many of the heads on our snare drums and timpani, as well as purchase padded cloth covers for the timpani. This will ensure that these instruments sound terrific and are protected when not in use.|
|Priority 4 – $552||Our last focus is to purchase new sets of mallets for the students to use during class and concerts. Most students own one pair of mallets, but different types of mallets are required for different types of pieces. An expanded inventory of mallets will allow us to perform music at a much higher quality.|
