This past weekend, the JHS Marching Band finished its 2017 competitive season with the Mid-States Championship in Mason, OH. It was an incredibly long day, with the students returning home around 1:00AM. The Band’s preparation and dedication to excellence was showcased on the National level to a large and responsive audience, and they placed 8th overall at the contest. A few of the students will still continue the marching band season as the Band represents Jeffersonville in the annual Festival of Lights parade in Chicago, IL on November 18, 2017.
We had 6 Parkview students participate in the Band for the 2017 season. Our students have spent over 200 hours of rehearsal in the past five months to perfect an 8-minute product. Not only have they improved exponentially from a musical standpoint, but they have developed lifelong skills of hard work, persistence, and commitment while sharing that dedication with the other 140 students along the way.
Congratulations to Abby, Dylan, Gee, Julia, Nate, and Jenna on their success this Fall. They have represented Parkview with class and shown what it truly means to have PRIDE.
